A relationship with Jesus Christ

Step One: Know that God Loves You

God loves you and has a plan for your life. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." 1 John 4:10 also says, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." God loves all and desires a relationship with ALL people.

Do you know that God loves ALL people, even you?

Step Two: realize that You are a Sinner

The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; "Sin is anything you say, think, or do, that breaks God’s law. According to that verse in the Bible, all of us are guilty at some point of sinning or saying, doing, or thinking something that breaks God's law. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Our sin separates us from a holy and righteous God. Because of our sin, once we die, we deserve to spend eternity in a place called hell, separated from God. Romans 21:8 says, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Do you believe that you are a sinner?

Step Three: Believe that Jesus Died for You

In Romans 5:8, the Bible says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." -

2 Corinthians 5:21 states, "For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Jesus never sinned, but He took your sin on Himself. He died in your place to pay the price (wage) for your sin. Not only did Jesus Christ die on the cross for you, but He was buried and rose again three days later.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Do you believe that Jesus died for you and rose again on the third day?

Step Four: Accept Jesus By Faith

Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God has provided us with a gift through His Son Jesus Christ. This free gift is Salvation—forgiveness of our sins, a relationship with Jesus Christ, and a promise of eternity in Heaven. You don't have to work for it or try to earn it by being a good person. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to Heaven. John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

You must accept it by faith—trusting fully in what Jesus has done for you.. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:8-9 state, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Accepting Christ means turning from your sin and placing your trust in Him alone to save you. You can do this right now by sincerely calling on Him in prayer.
